The Arthur Mendel Music Library at Princeton University is located in the Woolworth Center for Musical Studies. Mendel Music Library houses collections to support the music department, and the growing dance, theater, and music theater programs.
You can find over 50,000 CDs, 60,000 scores, 5,100 DVDs, and over 1,000 periodical titles in Mendel. Mendel works with the Department of Rare Books and Special Collections at Firestone Library to acquire and hold rare pieces of Princeton’s music collection. Most recently a rare 1933 vocal score of Shostakovich’s Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District was acquired.
This blog will highlight some of the exciting music purchases by Mendel Music Library. It will also be used to make announcements about new resources and will highlight useful resources that might not be widely known.
